A big welcome to all of my lovely followers and visitors to my little space in the crafting world of blogland! I love colouring, drool over every embellishment and love to 'look' at papers (never mind using them) - some are just TOO good to use lol. I hope you enjoy your little wander through my creative world and would love to feel that I may have inspired some of you in some small way. Happy Crafting to you all and I hope you will stop by again soon!

Saturated Canary - Reader

Good Morning Everyone!

Today I'd like to share with you all another adorable image from Saturated Canary called Reader.
She is just so beautiful and I had a lot of fun colouring her up and creating a little background for her!  I'm still getting to know my Distress Inks and so, I know the colouring isn't perfect, but I'm pretty pleased with the overall effect :)

I just love the soft feel these DI's achieve and used embellishments to compliment both the image and colours.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, the little rolled flower is from The Ribbon Girl and the beautiful Shabby Pearl Rose Organza Trim if from Live & Love Crafts.  The lace was a bargain from Ebay any the little pom pom trim I bought from my local craft shop.

I decided to create a little book shelf to complete the look - a little fiddly to be honest, but I wasn't going to be beaten!  I folded papers here and there to make the 'books' and 'pages', then added a little 'shelf' made from paper to which i added metal embellishments to the edges.

I typed the sentiment onto Kraft cardstock and distressed the edges.  Thought it was quite apt for the overall theme :)

I would like to enter into the following challenges:

A Random Fan - #16 Anything Goes
Crafty Sentiments Designs - Use a Sentiment
Fan-Tastic Tuesday - #58 AG with a Twist - Add some flowers Top 3

Violet Vintage

Hey lovely peeps!! I hope you are all keeping well and happy!

I can't believe it's been almost two months since I created a blog post!! I've taken some time out from DT work for now as, apart from working and spending quality time with my beautiful family, I'm in the process of planning a wedding!! Yep!! MY WEDDING!!  Eeeek!! Oh, and obviously it's my fiance's wedding too LOL.

A couple of weeks back, I got an amazing bargain on some Distress Re-Inkers!  I didn't want to let this bargain slip by and so went in, full throttle, and bought them.  Bear in mind I've never used them in my entire life, but was desperate to have a play.  I'm so pleased I took the plunge as I'm absolutely loving them!  I have so much to learn, but, I'm being extremely patient with myself and having a little go every now and then when I get the chance.

The card I'm showing today is the very first one I created using an image coloured up with my new inks!  My previous attempts of colouring ended up in the bin!!! Heehee!  I played it safe and made this one for my eldest daughter's 28th birthday. Yep!!  She's 28 but she'll always be my 'little princess' .....

Here's my little version of the very beautiful Violet Vintage
I absolutely love Saturated Canary images and this beauty is no exception!

I decided to go with the Shabby Chic effect and am hoping that's how this card comes across ...... and not just plain Shabby LOL!

My papers are from Lili of the Valley called Country Lady, which I distressed.  The flowers are a mixture from Wild Orchid CraftsThe Ribbon Girl and Live & Love Crafts.  The pearls are from The Hobby House and the little rolled flowers I made myself.  The twine borders are from The Range - another little bargain I got :), and the little charm was from my stash, which I coloured up with a Copic pen.

And there you have it ..... lots of practice is still needed to get to where I want to be with these inks, but I'm pretty pleased with the overall outcome at the moment.

I'd like to enter into the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks - #216 Happy Birthday
Crafting Musketeers - #18 Autumn Colours
Divas by Design - Texture
MilkCoffee Challenge - Lots of Layers

Princess Honor

Hey Everyone! Hope you're all fine and dandy!

I've been seeing some gorgeous creations on Kraft card lately and so, just for a bit of fun, I decided to have a little more playing time with my new Prismacolor pencils and gave it a whirl.  It's all a bit trial and error at the moment, but the pencils are starting to grow on me now ...... kinda ......

I thought I'd colour up the very gorgeous Princess Honor by Saturated Canary and here's the little lady herself ....

Okay!  So the nose is far from perfect, I got a little stroppy with her skin colour as I didn't have a clue which colours to use and I could've blended a bit more but, overall, I'm quietly pleased with the overall effect ......LOL

The gorgeous flowers are from WOC.  The twine, pearl string and jute are all from LLC.  Butterfly, adhesive lace, metal sentiment and feathery stuff  are all from my stash.

I'd like to enter into the following:

CMC - Guest Designer

Good Morning Everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day and was able to share it with your loved ones.  I got to share mine with a special someone whom I love with all my heart, will always look up to and treasure every moment with ........ my fabulous Mum! :)

I'm so excited about my card today!  I was asked to do a Guest Design spot for CMC Challenge and, of course, I jumped at the chance!  For this next fortnight their theme is ANYTHING GOES!!

CMC are sponsored by Marker Pop this time so I chose to colour up the very beautiful Nevaeh by Saturated Canary, which I have as a digi image but which can also be bought in rubber from Marker Pop HERE.

She was an absolute joy to colour up and, although I stayed within my comfort zone as far as her hair colour (I love doing coloured hair lol), I challenged myself to try a new colour for me ..... YELLOW!! Eek!  I do love the freshness of these colours together, alongside the beautiful aqua.  My papers are digital downloads from Bearly Mine Designs and I used Summer's Roses and Plain & Simple.  I've only just recently been introduced to these gorgeous papers by a lovely lady on their DT.  Thank you Jackie! These are truly stunning designs and I want ALL of them lol.

I coloured this little pretty up with Copics in the following:
Skin:  E000, E00, E11, R20    Hair/Shoes:  V09, V12, V15, V17, V91
Greens:  G21, G94, YG63     Yellow:  Y00, Y08, Y15
Butterflies:  BG000, BG01, BG05

My floral display is a combination of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, the Hobby House and Live & Love Crafts.  Purple ribbon & pearl string from HH, Lace from WOC.  The large die-cut butterfly is a Marianne Design and the two smaller ones are from Joanna Sheen.  I cut out on pearl cardstock and coloured with copics.

I'd like to enter into the following:

Smokin' Hot

Hey all ..... hope I'm not doing all of your heads in with all my recent posts, but I really wanted to share this gorgeous gal I've coloured up called Smokin' Hot.  You can find this little beauty HERE - she's a new image created by the extremely talented Krista Smith of Saturated Canary!

As soon as I saw her I had to have her!  You see, she so reminds me of what I'm going to look like on my jollies this year ...... yep! You read it right!! I know what you're thinking ...... "Oh yes, in her dreams!!!"  Well, okay, you might be a little bit right in thinking that way ..... my hair isn't actually this beautiful shade of purple and I will most definitely be wearing a hat ..... but, apart from that ........... ;)

Oh .... okay!!! The only similarity will be the ties on the side of the bikini bottoms ... and they probably won't even be that neat lol.

I seem to have an obsession with colouring hair a bit different to the norm at the moment and purple is my all time favourite colour to use.

I coloured this little honey up with my Copics in the following shades:
Skin:  E000, 00, 11, R11
Hair:  V000, 12, 15, 17
Bikini:  BG10, 13, 15, 49

For her scrummy ice-cream I used Tulip Beads in a Bottle from Joanna Sheen for the cherry and Liquid Pearls white opal for the ice-cream.

List of materials used for my card are:

Rhinestone Sparklers The Hobby House
Rhinestone Flourish  The Hobby House
Mulberry Rose Collection The Hobby House
Woodware Self Adhesive Lace The Art of Craft
Pearl String Live & Love Crafts
Prima Zipper
Small purple flowers/Self adhesive pearls The Hobby House

I'd like to enter this babe into the following:

A Gem of a Challenge #81 - Bring on the Sunshine

Joanna Sheen Challenge - Girls, Girls, Girls
Live & Love Crafts #11 - 50 Shades of .... Lilac

Christmas Butterfly

Hiya all! I'm back again but, before I post my next make, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy for the innocent children and adults who tragically lost their lives in Connecticut.  Sending love and prayers also to the poor little ones who witnessed the awful event and for the loved ones left behind to pick up the shattered pieces from this heartbreaking tragedy! May they all find the strength to get through this truly sad and difficult time......

This evening I am, once again, showcasing the darling 'Butterfly Baby' from Saturated Canary - only this time, she's all ready for Christmas!  A friend of mine asked for this little cutie to be popped onto a card for her little Granddaughter's 1st Christmas and here she is .....

I coloured this little sweetheart with a mixture of  Copics and SN's and matted her onto a concertina layer, which was made from papers out of my stash.

The purple backing paper is from the Xmas Bella pack from Wild Rose Studio and the blue is from a Nitwit collection, which came free with one of my magazine subscriptions.

I die-cut and glittered some Marianne Design snowflakes then added my little floral arrangement on top.  The purple rose and blue rose buds are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the smaller cream roses are from The Hobby House.  The stamens are from Live and Love Crafts - as is the gorgeous cheesecloth matted behind the papers. The pretty sparkly butterfly was from my stash.

I do love how you can make one image look so different by using colour changes and themes - I certainly think this little cutie will be definitely be used many more times (I'll be careful not to keep showing them though as I don't want you all to get bored ... hee hee! )

Well, I'm off now to finish off another little Christmas card - who knows how long it'll take but hopefully it'll be ready in time for this Christmas ........

I would like to enter this card into the following:

Charisma Cardz - Christmas Makes
Unique Crafters Challenge - Christmas Challenge and Free Image
Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge - Christmas Friendship

Thanks for popping by and big hugs to all,

xx

Butterfly Baby

Happy December ladies ...... I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by! Christmas'll be on us before we know it and, I don't know about you all, but I am NOWHERE near ready!  I always kinda leave it 'til the last minute to be truthful but, thankfully, up to press, I've always managed to get everything done on time ..... so far :) Really need to get my act together and quick!!

On to my card and, today, I am showcasing the gorgeous, most beautiful Butterfly Baby from Saturated Canary - a commissioned card for one of my lovely work colleagues, who chose this sweet baby to take centre stage on her card for her little Granddaughter .....

I embossed some pearl white card with my More Dots embossing folder, added jute from Live and Love Crafts and ribbon from my stash.  Butterfly baby was primarily coloured with Spectrum Noirs and then popped onto a doily.  I made the concertina base for the topper out of papers from my stash and a Martha Stewart punch.

I punched the smaller butterflies from the same papers, then die cut the gorgeous Marianne Design butterfly from cream cardstock.  The corner die is the Madera Corner from Memory Box.  I finished the card off with liquid pearls and, yep, you guessed it, the all important flittering of glitter ......

..... and here's a little side view.

Anyhow, I really must fly as got lots to be getting on with ..... thanks so much to you all who pop by!
Big hugs,

xx

Birthday Princess

Hiya everyone! Hope you are all keeping nice 'n' cosy and dry!  What awful, dire weather we're having -rain, rain and more rain!! Oh well, just another excuse to stay indoors and craft :)

It's just a quick post from me today as I really need to start making Christmas cards .... no time like the present I guess!

Tomorrow is my youngest daughter's 24th birthday and bless her heart, I asked her what she'd like for her birthday and her reply was "Just to come over to yours Mum for a yummy lamb roast"!  Awww! I know that, apparently, no-one can cook like your own Mum but I was secretly chuffed that, after all these years, she actually still CHOOSES to taste my home cooking!!! ;)

Well, onto my card .... I have made this cute little number for her little bro to give to her.  This little beauty is called Princess Rose Red from Saturated Canary.  How adorable is she?

I coloured Rose Red up using a mixture of Copics, Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs.  I thought I'd give green a go this time.  I usually stay away from green - who knows why, as I have no reason for this - and I think it turned out not too bad :)

I treated myself yesterday and bought a distressing tool (as I've been using my scissors up to press and have scars on my fingers to show for it) and now I want to distress everything!! It's so much fun and a lot less pain....

I bought the gorgeous jute, metal corner embellishment and the gorgeous stamens from Live and Love Crafts and wow, what an amazing little treasure trove it is there!   I coloured up some white ribbon with my Ivory promarker and added a large pearl brad on the bow.  The purple carnations and leaves are from WOC and the roses from The Hobby House

Okay, I apologise .... this post wasn't as quick as I expected it to be .... but I did try to keep it short and sweet :)

I would like to enter into the following challenges:

Creative Card Crew - Challenge 24 - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 244 - Girls Only
Saturated Canary - Challenge 31 - Lou's Sketch
Unique Crafters Challenge - November Challenge - Sugar and Spice

Thanks so much for popping by and big hugs to you all,

Pretty in Pink

Hiya ladies! I hope you are all keeping well and still happily crafting!  I'm back from my amazing holiday in the very beautiful, unspoilt island of Boa Vista, Cape Verde.  Feeling so relaxed I'm almost horizontal - albeit a tad chilly ..... what a shock to return to England with its very nippy low temps! Just trying to get into the swing of things again - number crunching at work all day Weds & Thurs was a shocker too ha ha!

As I'm still kind of in holiday mode (my little crafty mojo is not yet fully awake) I thought I'd blog one of my cards I made back in the summer when I first started using my promarkers.  The colouring is not fab on this one but I always think it's a good thing to look back on things to see how far you've progressed - hopefully I've come on a bit since June but there's always room for improvement!

Here is the gorgeous Whispy from Saturated Canary all Pretty in Pink ......

The backing papers are from the Papermania Capsule Collection from Docrafts. I stitched the edges of each mat and added onto the card at various angles to give the card an interesting layout!  I coloured and glittered the beautiful Whispy and adhered her at yet another angle.  I punched the little butterflies and added glitter and gems to pretty them up even more.  The gorgeous doily is from WOC.  The sentiment and age were printed from my PC - took a while to get the right colour pink hee hee! but I got there in the end.

All in all I think butterflies, glitter, gems and fairies make an all round girly girl card - not forgetting the pink :)

I would like to enter this little creation into the following:

Unique Crafters Challenge - Sugar and Spice

I shall be having a little hop around within the next couple of days to have a peek at everyone's lovely creations since I've been away - thank you so much for stopping by my little space today.

Big hugs,

All the B's

Hiya ladies, hope you are all keeping super well and happy! :)

Today I am sharing a card I have made for the Saturated Canary Challenge #26 and the theme is to add a minimum of two items beginning with 'B' ....... only I think I may have gone a little overboard with the B's but, hey, it was fun doing it! :)

My B's are:  Blue, Black, Bow, Buckle, Blossoms, Baby's Breath, Butterfly and Button. This stunning image, called 'Zoe' was created by the lovely Krista Smith of Saturated Canary to be used in conjunction with a fabulous E-Book tutorial by Zoe from Make It Crafty called 'Colouring Long Hair in Fine Detail'.  I actually bought this book exactly one month ago ..... but was a little too scared to try it!  I could also maybe add 'Braving the Beautiful Brown locks' as more B's??? ;)

Well, this is how my attempt has turned out ...... I guess it needs a little lot more work at it but, for now, I'm happy that I've finally given it a go! :)

The gorgeous background papers are from the Papermania Capsule Collections from docrafts and matted onto black pearlescent cardstock.  The lovely little blossoms are from, once again, WOC.  I used a baby's breath flower to immitate a fascinator in Zoe's hair :), white netting within the ribbon buckle and the same netting to make a separate bow - attaching a little button from my stash!  The beautiful butterfly I bought from The Range.

Well, I guess I should head off to get this little make submitted to the challenge ..... before I'm too late!

Wishing you all a great rest of the day, thanks heaps for stopping by :)

Big hugs,

Fairy Godmother

Hey all! Long time no see! I’ve been super duper busy this last week and a bit.  The glorious sunny days we were blessed with last weekend were taken up with packing up my youngest daughter’s old home then helping unpack in her new home!  Not a speck of sun touched my skin but, hey ho, there’s always next summer!!! ….. and we have a happy bunny who is now much closer to home!
My sweet boy decided on Wednesday he’d have his share of the ghastly school bug so, no work for me but lots of lovely huggles taking care of my baby!  I’m happy to say he was back to his usual self on Friday and running around like a loon again!!
As this blogging is still all very new to me it seems to take me days hours to write a post ….. but I have FINALLY managed to get around to posting one of my latest creations!
And here she is – as a set of course (as I am completely candle mad at the moment).
014
I was asked to make a card for a Godmother from her little Goddaughter and, what better image to use than Saturated Canary's Whispy!
005
I coloured her up with my promarkers, glittered her fairy wings and skirt and completed her look with beautiful lace from my local craft shop and gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
003004
The heart and butterfly were diecut and glittered (the butterfly is a Marianne Creatable die) and little gems were then adhered to add the finishing touch!
013012011
For the candle I coloured little Whispy with the exact colour combo as my card (although the tone looks slightly deeper on the candle).  I then placed the little verse onto the back of the candle and fixed two glittered butterflies either side of Whispy with jewelled pins.
I followed Pops Cards' tutorial for the candle, as in my previous blog, and am so very grateful to her for sharing this super fab idea!  So far this weekend, I have made up three beautiful candle and card sets ……….. I’m completely hooked!
Thank you so much for popping by and taking a peek!
Lots of hugs to you all, Tracey xx

70th Celebration

It was my Mum's 70th birthday recently and, to give her a keepsake for this special celebration, I made her an 8" x 8" framed card using one of the adorable saturated canary images called Fancy!  Krista Smith, the designer of these beautiful digi stamps, was kindly offering Fancy as a freebie.

My Mum is one of THE most precious people in my life and, as the sentiment states, she is absolutely Beautiful both Inside and Out :o)

Happy 70th Birthday Mum - you're truly one in a million <3
