A big welcome to all of my lovely followers and visitors to my little space in the crafting world of blogland! I love colouring, drool over every embellishment and love to 'look' at papers (never mind using them) - some are just TOO good to use lol. I hope you enjoy your little wander through my creative world and would love to feel that I may have inspired some of you in some small way. Happy Crafting to you all and I hope you will stop by again soon!

Sassy Sweet Tooth

Hi everyone! Don't know about you all but the snowy heavens definitely opened on Friday around our way - the little fluttering of snow I was expecting turned into an all out blizzard!! (Well, not quite ..... but there was certainly lots of it! ) The little ones have had an absolute whale of a time :) We've built a snowman with a little wall around him to protect him from the wind; had a go at snow trampolining; been sledding and, of course, the all important snowball fights .... my son's aim is not the best so most of his snowballs ended up in next door's garden or on my windows!! Oops! ;) All good fun though and, this morning, there appears to be more on the way ........

On to my card now and, today, I'm sharing with you another brand new design by the fabulous Redonkadoodles and this little sexy chick is called 'Sassy Sweet Tooth'.

How fun is she?! I've once again used up a mixture of Christmas paper pads - as long as there are no Santas or Snowmen on there I figure I can get away with it :)  The sentiment is, of course, the words from the well known song ...... it popped into my head as soon as I saw her with her heart shaped lollipop and thought it would be kinda cute to put it alongside her.

I coloured Sassy Sweet Tooth up with Copics and here's my list of ingredients:

Skin: E00 E11 E21 R11
Hair: E31 E35 E37 E47
All blue tones: BV08 BV17 BV29
All green tones: G94 G85 G21
Lollipop: R59 R37 R11 + a touch of glitter to make it sugar coated :)

I'd like to enter this cheeky little number into the following:

Miracle Baby

Hi all, hope you're all keeping warm what with all of the white stuff falling everywhere! Apparently we're in for a big flurry this weekend too!!

Before I show my card I'd just like to share some amazing news with you all .....

My beautiful eldest daughter & son-in-law are, at long last, expecting their second baby!   They already have a gorgeous little boy who is now almost eight years old and they feel absolutely blessed that they have him, however, they sadly lost a baby four years ago and, after months of trying, which ultimately turned into years,  were told that their only hope to fulfill their dreams of having another child was to undergo IVF.  It's been an absolute rollercoaster for us all and they have truly felt every emotion you could possibly feel but, after deciding to go ahead with the IVF in October last year, I am so proud and delighted to tell you that all went as perfect as can be and they are expecting their little miracle baby in July of this year!  My daughter had her second scan today and baby is as bouncy as ever :) Eeeeeek!! Soooo super excited!!!

So, onto my card and today I'm sharing with you all the most beautiful new image created by the very talented Sheryl of Redonkadoodles.  This one is called Pregnancy Glow and I squealed with joy when I saw her!  The timing of this release was absolutely perfect!  I made this card especially to congratulate them on this fantastic news and the very apt sentiment was a free stamp last week from Create with TLC, which I merged with Pregnancy Glow.

I coloured this gorgeous gal up with my Copics - think I went a bit heavy on the red but hey, I'm still practising with these new markers - am sure I'll get the hang of them soon :)  My copic ingredients are:
Skin:  E00, E11, E21    Cheeks: R11
Hair:  E35, E47, E53 E57
Eyes:  B97, B95, B12    Lips:  R37, R11
Top:  R59, R37 (Copic) & DR7 (Spectrum Noir)
Skirt:  B39, B97, B95

I used some old Christmas backing papers from my stash, added cheesecloth to the back of one of the mats and coloured the cute little feet charm with copics.  Ribbon, brads and chipboard flower were also from my stash and, I've gone copic mad as each of them had a little copic colouring added to them all :)

I really hope you like my take on this gorgeous image and thanks so much for popping by today and sharing our good news with me!  I would also like to say a massive HELLO to my lovely new followers too - it really does mean so much to me to have you on board :)

Flowery Fifty

Hiya all ..... again! Wow! Get me! Two posts in one day ..... I feel a bit like public transport! You can wait ages for it to arrive and then two come along at once!

I nearly didn't blog this card as it's not one of my usual types at the moment but, as the saying goes, variety is the spice of life!  I was asked to make an 8" x 8" card with flowers on so I thought I would literally make the flowers the focal point .... with a few added butterflies (of course).

Firstly, I scored my pearlescent cardstock at diagonals - I have seen a couple of projects using this technique and felt inspired to try it.  I added some sheer ribbon with grosgrain ribbon on top (both from my stash) and attached my diecut greeting.

The beautiful flowers and leaves are all from Wild Orchid Crafts - I purposefully added a couple of carnations as, if google serves me correct, it is the flower for January birthdays ...... I think :)

I added some gems to the greeting and liquid pearls to each cross over point of the diagonals.  I physically had to hold myself back from adding too much more as my intention was to make this card as elegant and simple as I possibly could, but couldn't resist punching and die-cutting a couple of butterflies - well, butterflies DO love flowers don't they!

I would like to enter this card into:

ABC Challenge 11 - Clean and Simple

Thanks so much for popping by and taking a peek! Big hugs,

Red Wine Party

Hi everyone and a Happy New Year to each and every one of you! Hope you all had the best Christmas and here's looking forward to a bright and exciting 2013 along with (hopefully) more regular posts from Yours Truly :)

I have no excuses as to not being on here over the festive period apart from the fact that I just totally chilled with my lovely family. Yesterday was my first day back at work number crunching and little one's first day back at school today so, sadly, normality resumes ...... I did get an extra special prezzie from 'The Big Man' at xmas though ..... a whole 144 copic ciao markers! Oh my gosh, I was beside myself and did massive happy dances :D ..... Whoop! Whoop!

Today I'm sharing a card I was commissioned to make by a friend of mine for a fun loving lady's 50th who happens to enjoy a glass of red wine .... or four ;)  Whilst scouring for a digi stamp I came across this fab image from Bugaboo Stamps ....

I used my sparkly new copics to colour this up .... yep, I know, practice needed but I'm having fun doing so :) I was a tad scared to colour such a large space in red (the card is 8" x 8") and I could have added more of a deeper shading but I'm fairly pleased with my first take on it :) Hmmmm .... I think, actually, that Julie may be a little inconsiderate .... why couldn't she have preferred white wine instead??!! Ha ha! ;)  I used 3D crystal laquer to give the glassy effect and added Julie's year of birth using good ole fashioned peel offs lol. For the corners I used my lovely Memory Box die and added liquid pearls to add a bit of depth.

The fab quote comes with the digi .... I just changed the font to match the birthday greeting.  My little floral arrangement consists of the gorgeous roses/buds from WOC and the pretty gold and white stamens from Live & Love Crafts.

My first post for 2013 .... hope you like :)

I would like to enter into the following challenges - two of which are brand new, so huge congrats and best wishes to the Inky Chicks and Creative Creations on the start of their new ventures :)

Christmas Butterfly

Hiya all! I'm back again but, before I post my next make, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy for the innocent children and adults who tragically lost their lives in Connecticut.  Sending love and prayers also to the poor little ones who witnessed the awful event and for the loved ones left behind to pick up the shattered pieces from this heartbreaking tragedy! May they all find the strength to get through this truly sad and difficult time......

This evening I am, once again, showcasing the darling 'Butterfly Baby' from Saturated Canary - only this time, she's all ready for Christmas!  A friend of mine asked for this little cutie to be popped onto a card for her little Granddaughter's 1st Christmas and here she is .....

I coloured this little sweetheart with a mixture of  Copics and SN's and matted her onto a concertina layer, which was made from papers out of my stash.

The purple backing paper is from the Xmas Bella pack from Wild Rose Studio and the blue is from a Nitwit collection, which came free with one of my magazine subscriptions.

I die-cut and glittered some Marianne Design snowflakes then added my little floral arrangement on top.  The purple rose and blue rose buds are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the smaller cream roses are from The Hobby House.  The stamens are from Live and Love Crafts - as is the gorgeous cheesecloth matted behind the papers. The pretty sparkly butterfly was from my stash.

I do love how you can make one image look so different by using colour changes and themes - I certainly think this little cutie will be definitely be used many more times (I'll be careful not to keep showing them though as I don't want you all to get bored ... hee hee! )

Well, I'm off now to finish off another little Christmas card - who knows how long it'll take but hopefully it'll be ready in time for this Christmas ........

I would like to enter this card into the following:

Charisma Cardz - Christmas Makes
Unique Crafters Challenge - Christmas Challenge and Free Image
Wild Orchid Crafts Challenge - Christmas Friendship

Thanks for popping by and big hugs to all,

Festive Floppy

Hi all, hope you are all well and ready for your Christmas festivities! I am still not organised ..... but am getting there ........ slowly!!  I cannot believe how quickly it comes around - especially once you hit a certain age ;) but I so love how excited the little ones get.  My little boy has been counting the sleeps since mid November hee hee! Bless him ........ only 10 more sleeps to go!

On to my card and today I'm presenting the gorgeous and very cute Floppy from MiC.  He has been coloured up for a couple of weeks now and been sat patiently waiting for me to pop him onto a card!  Finally, here he is ........

I have coloured Floppy and his gifts with SN's - with the odd PM and Copic thrown in for good measure, printed a free snowflake (which I personally think looks more like a star ha ha) and added glitter here, there and almost everywhere ;)

The turquoise backing paper is from a REALLY old Dovecraft paper pad, which I bought many moons ago and never did anything with! It's possibly even extinct now!! I also used the gorgeous Maja Design Papers from LLC.  My little sentiment is from Pink Gem Designs and the little snowflakes are from my extremely miniscule punch, which I also bought many moons ago ;)

I'd like to enter Floppy into the following:

Unique Crafters Challenge - Christmas Challenge and Free Image
Charisma Cardz - Christmas Makes

Hope you like my little creation today (I'm hoping my little Grandson does too ..... seeing as it's for him)! Thanks so much for popping by, big hugs,
xx

Butterfly Baby

Happy December ladies ...... I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by! Christmas'll be on us before we know it and, I don't know about you all, but I am NOWHERE near ready!  I always kinda leave it 'til the last minute to be truthful but, thankfully, up to press, I've always managed to get everything done on time ..... so far :) Really need to get my act together and quick!!

On to my card and, today, I am showcasing the gorgeous, most beautiful Butterfly Baby from Saturated Canary - a commissioned card for one of my lovely work colleagues, who chose this sweet baby to take centre stage on her card for her little Granddaughter .....

I embossed some pearl white card with my More Dots embossing folder, added jute from Live and Love Crafts and ribbon from my stash.  Butterfly baby was primarily coloured with Spectrum Noirs and then popped onto a doily.  I made the concertina base for the topper out of papers from my stash and a Martha Stewart punch.

I punched the smaller butterflies from the same papers, then die cut the gorgeous Marianne Design butterfly from cream cardstock.  The corner die is the Madera Corner from Memory Box.  I finished the card off with liquid pearls and, yep, you guessed it, the all important flittering of glitter ......

..... and here's a little side view.

Anyhow, I really must fly as got lots to be getting on with ..... thanks so much to you all who pop by!
Big hugs,

xx
